The school is owned and managed by the SAHAJ Charitable Cultural and Educational Trust. Established in 1994, the school embodied the lofty aspirations of the members of the Trust to offer better educational avenues to the youth of Ottapalam. It was one of the earliest educational institutions in the area to be affiliated to CBSE, New Delhi, and by 2004, the Secondary and the Higher Secondary sections were functioning in full swing.
Our Founder & Patron
The eminent personality who provided the leadership for the establishment of Swathy Central School was Prof. Janardhanan Pillay. He was a renowned Mathematics Professor of long standing experience and has authored a large number of books in Mathematics. He is held in high esteem in the academic circles in Kerala.
After a life of illustrious academic and professional accomplishments spread over half a century, he passed away on 04 February 2021. His missionary zeal and vision will continue to inspire us in our future strides also.
Prof. Janardhanan Pillay’s wife, Smt. Gangamma, was a Mathematics teacher and an ambassador of learning in her own right. She ably supported Prof. Janardhanan Pillay in his works related to the establishment of the school.
Swathy owes a lot to these pioneers for its initial phase of growth and evolution.
Chairman
In 2011, Mr. Ajith Pillai, son of Prof. Janardhanan Pillay assumed charge. He is now the Chairman and Managing Director of the school and the Trust.
An Engineering graduate from CET Trivandrum, Ajith went to the US for his further studies and obtained an MS degree in Computer Science along with an MBA degree, from the University of Illinois. He is the Founder and CEO of a leading international software company - Nous Infosystems and is currently based out of the US.
Ajith J. Pillai’s passion for excellence and business acumen have made him a successful entrepreneur. He is known for his commitment to moulding leadership in others and helping them to realize their dreams. He has been instrumental in bringing in progressive intellectual and humanitarian dimensions to Swathy’s administration.
Mrs. Krishna Ajith, is an office-bearer of the Sahaj Charitable Trust. She is an engineering graduate and is intimately connected with the management of the school. She takes active interest in designing and updating its learning programs.
The members of the Management, having an enterprising and enlightened vision, are at the forefront of all the educational activities of the school in its progression towards liberal education. Apart from facilitating the physical and intellectual expansion of the institution, they are committed to providing financial assistance to the needy students of the community. It is also to be noted that they are actively involved in the further stages of the students’ education, and right up to their fruitful and remunerative employment.
